The ABC's of being part of the Internet explosion.

At this point I assume you already know how to use the Internet for web browsing, otherwise you would not be here, right? At this point I also assume that you only know the basics of Web site implementation, right? In plain simple terms and for non-webmasters, I will explain the basics of having a Web site up and running:

3 basic steps to complete a Web site and have it
up and running on the Internet

These steps will be explained below:

1. Domain Registration: You must register a domain name. A domain name is a www.YourName.com and it gives you, and only you, the right to use that name forever (provided that you meet all the terms and conditions of the Domain Registry Provider). The standard price for registering a domain is $70 USA for two years and $35/year thereafter. (Prices may vary but not significantly).

2. Web Hosting: You must contract with a web hosting company and purchase space on their server to host your domain and contents of your site. This is service that is also fairly standardized in terms of rates and fares for web space (hosting). Typical rates for medium space (30Meg more than 2000 pages of text) is about $20 per month .

3. Web site Design: This is the furnishing of the space (hosting space) provided the Hosting Co. you contracted. This is also the key component of implementing your Web site. Pricing for Web design vary greatly depending on your needs, but it is extremely important that you contract with a "Professional Web Master".
