Do I Need a Network?

Do you need Internet access for some or all personnel?
Does your staff have the ability to send email to each other?
Does your staff have the ability to share files with each other?
Can you communicate with everyone in your office electronically?
Are there more computers than printers in your office?

If you answered yes to any of the questions above, then a network installed in your office can help you and your employees become more productive and efficient.

Increase Productivity
One of the ways a network can help you become more productive is because it can allow your computers to share resources. Resources can include printers, modems, internet connections, databases, files, scanners or just about anything else that can be connected to a stand alone PC can be set up to share over a network. Many companies set up "Share" folders where employees can put their files so other employees can access them.

Communicate
As many people already know, email is a convenient and efficient way to communicate with family, friends and other companies. But, Email can also be an efficient way for your employees to communicate between each other. No more "phone tag". You can even send attached files, including graphic images, reports, and invoices.

Save money
Networks can consolidate such processes as printing , internet access and backups. For printing, each person no longer needs to have a printer, with a network, one high end printer would cost less than multiple low-end printers. For internet access, each workstation now does not need to have a modem and a phone line to connect to the internet, one internet connection can be shared throughout the entire network. For backups, one centrally located zip drive, tape drive or CD can back up files on every computer in the office.
